COURSE NASA Award, June 2006

NASA FutureFlight Central COURSE Project Team received the 2006 NASA Honor Awards for Group Achievement "for significant contributions to the capacity and safety of the National Airspace System by conducting real-time simulations of the Chicago O'Hare Modernization Plan for evaluating tower and surface operations."

Team members included representatives from Ames Research Center, FAA, SAIC, Flight Research Associates, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

NASA Group Achievement Award, July 2004

NASA FutureFlight Central Team received a 2004 NASA Honor Award for Group Achievement "for exceptional achievement in creating a high-fidelity simulation environment for Space Shuttle Orbiter landing operations with the ground support vehicle convoy."

Team members included representatives from Ames Research Center, Kennedy Space Center, Langley Research Center, Northrop Grumman Information Technology, Allied Aerospace, Bionetics (KSC), DOD/U.S. Air Force, and San Jose State University.

NASA Group Achievement Award, July 2002

NASA FutureFlight Central Team received a 2002 NASA Honor Award for Group Achievement “for significant contributions to the safety of our Nation's air transportation system through pioneering a new simulation capability to enhance future terminal area surface operations”.

Team members included representatives from Ames Research Center, Decision Systems, FAA (LAX Tower), Logicon, Los Angeles World Airports, Plato's Cave, QSS Group Inc., Raytheon ITSS, and United Airlines.   

Popular Science Award, November 2000

Award for Aviation Safety and Efficiency, June 2000

[Photo of ATA Reno 2000 award]Air Transport Association (ATA) Reno 2000 award for "the most significant contribution to aviation safety and efficiency in the western United States. " The award was presented at the fourth annual Customer Forum West, Reno 2000, which is sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Air Transport Association .

Award from Air Traffic Management Magazine, November 1998

[Photo of ATCA award 1998]NASA Ames Research Center's FutureFlight Central was voted winner of Air Traffic Management Magazine's 1998 Award for Safety, Efficiency and Innovation in the category of Training and Simulation. The FutureFlight Central received 51% of the readers' votes in this category. Nancy Dorighi accepted the award on November 4, 1998 at the Air Traffic Control Association 43rd Meeting held in Atlantic City, NJ
